Problems with a Chromebook

Most issues with the hardware (including a black screen) can be resolved by doing the following:

  1. Hold down the power button for a FULL twenty seconds. Then press the power button again to turn on the Chromebook.
  2. If the Chromebook does not turn on then plug the charger in to make sure you have a charged battery. There is a small light next to the charging port that will turn red if charging.

If you still have the original problem email tech@mhlt.org and be sure to include a description of the issue you are experiencing along with your name, phone number, and times you are available to talk on the phone. Should we need to repair the device you will need to drop it off at school (please do not drop it off until you have talked to the Tech department at school). If a spare is available we will issue one for use while the Chromebook is repaired.

If you are having a problem with logging into or using a program please do the following:

  1. Talk to your teacher about this issue.
  2. If your teacher is unable to solve this issue email tech@mhlt.org. In the email be sure to include a description of the issue you are experiencing along with your name, phone number, and times you are available to talk on the phone.

Please keep in mind that anytime the Chromebook is returned to school it should be in the carrying case. Parents are responsible for damage to the Chromebook caused by abuse or neglect as well as loss or theft.
